Solutions for healthcare, pharmacology and biotechnology represent the dynamically expanding market segment of industry-specific IT solutions. Currently Oracle corporation places special emphasis on these areas, and its experience can be used in the Russian market that tends to be quite promising and adequately matured.

Oracle offers a set of industry-specific software applications in these areas, first of all, tailored to clinic trials of medicines that are essential for the modern pharmacology development.

Currently a specialized center is being established by FORS in cooperation with Oracle CIS to use Oracle solutions in healthcare and biotechnology. The center will focus its efforts to promote these Oracle industry applications in the market, to deliver training, installation, consulting and support services. In the future it is anticipated to create a consolidated database to address challenges in the above mentioned subject-matter areas.

In 2008 FORS concluded a Partnership Agreement with CSAM International (www.csam.no) — the Norway leading software developer for the healthcare market. As it was the first breakthrough of the vendor to the Russian market, FORS engaged the position of the sole distributor of CSAM® Plexus in Russia — a complete solution providing an innovative clinical integration framework with communication facilities, where clinical information workflow is fully supported. The necessary information from various specialist systems is orchestrated by CSAM® Plexus, giving the clinician the overview of all relevant patient related data. The innovative solution offers vital support in the most common clinical scenarios, like the new patient review, rounds and repeated visits, follow up, etc.

It is based on Oracle technologies and could be easily integrated with such products as Oracle BI Clinical Data Warehouse and Oracle Identity Management Suite combined onto Oracle Healthcare Transaction Base. That product line is already at FORS healthcare portfolio, including also Oracle Life Sciences Applications (OLSA) and Oracle Siebel Life Sciences (LS), which automate clinical research process.

Several CSAM® Plexus successful implementations in the world prove its efficiency enabling leverage safety and higher quality of care. One of them is the medicine portal of the hospital Rikshospitalet in Oslo, Norway, which consolidate huge information resources — 12 large local systems and 7000 users.
